Self-catering accommodation
TWO CHIMNEYS sleeps up to 6 people in 3 bedrooms - one room with
a kingsize bed, one with twin beds (can be made up as superking on request) and the third with bunk beds. It has gas central
heating throughout, modern facilities and is fully equipped with everything you need
for a relaxing and comfortable stay. It also has private parking, a garden and Wi-Fi.
Downstairs
Living room
The cosy living room has a leather 3-seater sofa, two comfortable fireside chairs and a further small armchair.
There is a new wood burning stove (2025) for cold winter evenings, a smart TV and a DVD player with a good
selection of DVDs for guests to use. The front window looks onto the quiet private road and beyond,
walkers can be seen crossing one of the bridges over the River Greta that carried the former railway.
Dining room
The spacious dining room has a a living flame gas fire, a large table to seat six people and a further
easy chair that can be moved into the living room if required. There is a DAB radio/bluetooth speaker,
board games/toys, a selection of reading books, walking books, maps and visitor information.
The dining room window looks onto the garden where the robin is a frequent visitor.
Kitchen
The newly fitted kitchen (2023) has an electric oven and hob, fridge, freezer,
dishwasher and microwave oven. There is plenty of cupboard space and a good supply of crockery, cutlery, glasses,
pans, bakeware and kitchen utensils. There is an electric kettle, toaster and Nespresso coffee machine.
The door from the kitchen leads to the garden and there is easy access to the driveway at the side of the cottage
for unloading luggage.
Utility room
Beyond the kitchen, there is a utility room with washing machine, tumble dryer, iron, ironing board
and clothes airer. There is ample space for coats and boots etc.
Cloakroom
The cloakroom is accessed from the utility room and has a toilet, wash hand basin and heated towel rail.
Upstairs
Master bedroom
The master bedroom has a kingsize bed with bedside drawers and lamps on both sides. There is a double
wardrobe and chest of drawers with mirror.
There is a second freeview TV with a built-in DVD player. From the window you can see Walla Crag
and Catbells over the rooftops.
Twin bedroom
The second bedroom has matching twin beds which can be made up as a superking on request. There is a
wooden hanging rail for clothes and a chest of drawers with a mirror over.
From the window you can see Latrigg and towards Skiddaw beyond.
Bunk bedroom
The third bedroom has good quality, sturdy bunk beds. There is a large walk-in cupboard for
hanging clothes and a separate chest of drawers.
The view from this window is again of Latrigg and the Skiddaw range.
Bathrooms
Both bathrooms are new for 2026. The first bathroom has a roll-top bath, walk-in shower, toilet, basin, heated towel rail, light-up mirror and electric shaver point. The second bathroom has a large walk-in shower, toilet, basin, heated towel rail and light-up mirror with electric shaver socket.
Outside
A driveway for 1-2 cars is at the side of the house, with easy access through the kitchen
entrance for unloading luggage. There is also space for one car in front of the house.
To the side/rear of the house there is a pleasant garden with a wooden picnic bench, and directly outside the kitchen there is a sheltered patio.
There is a large, secure shed for storing bikes, and this also
houses a bar football table.
